Release Date: January 01, 2001
Pages: 356
*Book Two of a fifteen book series.
Summary:
Business has been slow. Okay, business has been dead. And not even of the undead variety. You would think Chicago would have a little more action for the only professional wizard in the phone book. But lately, Harry Dresden hasn’t been able to dredge up any kind of work — magical or mundane.
But just when it looks like he can’t afford his next meal, a murder comes along that requires his particular brand of supernatural expertise.
A brutally mutilated corpse. Strange-looking paw prints. A full moon. Take three guesses — and the first two don’t count…
Review:
In the second installment of The Dresden Files, a werewolf is loose in Chicago. Harry Dresden left Karrin Murphy hanging in the first book, but she needs Harry's knowledge, so she reluctantly calls him in on another case. He brings you along for the ride during his investigation and you learn new things: making potions, summoning demons, magic lore. There's never a dull moment when Harry Dresden is on the case; technology goes haywire around him, false leads, unforeseen twists, fights, and lots of peril. "Fool Moon" has to do with Harry learning to trust others and not just himself, his self-discovery, and conquering his inner demons than the demons in the world. It builds on the first book, but is still a separate entity. It keeps getting better.
